Mind of the Raven

I can't believe I've never read this.
I'm anxious to dive into it's pages.

So is a raven a wolf bird? Inform the uninformed.

They follow the wolves.
The ravens are said to lead wolves to prey.
And the ravens get the leftovers.
Crows and ravens are the only animal to travel towards a gunshot.
They have learned there will be the entrails where an animal carcass was field dressed.

So do the ravens follow, or do the wolves follow?

Both.
The ravens will find a pack of wolves on the hunt.
And the ravens will fly to where a deer is and caw for the wolves.

I've always had a thing for crows and ravens. I saw a guy that had a pet crow at a festival a few years back and have wanted one ever since. No luck on getting one so far. The pet crow the guy had could talk, but I've been told that they can't unless you have either tongue split. Anyone know if their is any truth to that? Or anyone know where one could get a pet crow or raven? Come to think of it, I've never seen a nesting crow, or I'd just snatch a chick.

I think I'm going to have to pick up that book.

Only a native American can possess a domestic Crow or Raven.
But there are breeders that have African Pied Crows and Brown crows for sale.

Crows and Ravens are sacred to me.

Buy one here:At the Corvid Ranch

Well, if the Onondaga ever win their land claim, I'll be living smack in the middle of the Res. Does that count? I didn't think so . The guy I saw at the festival with the crow was a Mohawk, so that makes sense.

Seems odd that you can shoot them no questions asked around here, but you can't own one. They even have a big ol' crow shoot (or did, not sure if they put an end to such garbage) in the city of Auburn not to far from here. Shoot all you want and win a prize, but heaven forbid you raise and care for one!

I put in my order for Mind of the Raven with Amazon. I also got Ravens of Winter by the same author.

Did you catch this article a week or two back? Smart little buggers!

I find it odd they can shoot them in New York but they're protected in Canada under the migratory bird act.(I think it has to do with the lack of vultures)
I like Canada more and more.

I have raised orphaned baby crows that a fella from Georgia Pacific would bring me.
I gave them to people I knew would keep them in secrecy and take very good care of them. And deserved them.

I'm loving this book already.
You'll enjoy it too I'm sure.

I missed the article. I was isolated, in training at the time.

I want this on DVD but all I can find is VHS.
