I finally switched from those XP days two weeks ago when apple announced the new iMac's and bought myself a new Mac Pro. The switch has gone better then I would have thought. Not sure how I used windows for so long without switching to a mac. Thanks macnn for having a great forum with good information. Just bring on leopard now.

Congrats. I remember when I switched back in 1998. I still use Windows at work and it's just a constant reminder of the better Mac experience when I get home.

Are you using your Mac Pro for work or personal? What caused you to switch? What do you do with your computer?

Its pretty much for all personal fun, and the occasional work that needs to be done for college. But thats pretty much it. The reason I switched was because I was tired of having to keep updating every other day and running anti-virus, spyware, and adware detectors. Besides the normal, surfing, IM'ing, and listening to music I dont really do that much stuff, Although I do run photoshop and that was the main reason I went to OSX instead of keeping my current os which was ubuntu. I love linux/unix backbone and OSX just fit right in the middle. Mainstream apps with a unix backbone. Hope that answers your questions.

Remember, you can still run XP and Linux on it should you need to (like some games, development tools, etc.) You can either boot directly into Windows or Linux, or, you can run them in a Virtual Machint on top of Mac OS X (a little slower, but the cool factor is 20x more. )
