Roddick and Gimelstob are playing right now. Roddick is going to win. They are a couple of my favorite players. I'm glad I could share.

Anybody else play for fun or competitively?

In high school and college, for fun. I haven't played in years, but it was great exercise. I have land now and my wife and I have talked about someday building a tennis court, if we can justify the expense. It looks like around 7-10 grand to do it decent.

I would absolutely LOVE to have a court at my place one day. I highly doubt it will ever happen, but it would be so convenient!

Yeah, I'm not sure if we will ever get one, but I keep thinking to myself I actually might get some quality exercise if I could play tennis, and after all, isn't good health priceless? It's a rational I'm working on. Actually, my neighbor used to play and I've thought about seeing if he would go in on it. We both have young kids that would benefit (and no tennis courts within miles—rural Kentucky).

Federer will win the open, hasn't he won the last 3? Maybe Nadal will step and win one not on clay. Maybe James Blake will pull a miracle. Maybe Maria Sharapova will do porn one day, one can only dream.

It's probably more of what I didn't do.

Can I ask where you got that number? I recently looked into getting a 40' by 30' basketball area..... $30 grand. This included a bit of grading of the land of course...which from what I hear is very expensive to do. But 10K seems a bit too cheap. I grew up with a tennis court in my parents house, and that was just under 20K .... but that's 1989 prices (including lights for night play).

Not doubting you, but if you got an estimate from a national company, feel free to pass on the info. My estimate was from Sports Court .... this included the grading of the land, concrete puring, sport court flooring system, backboard, and fencing on one side.

That was a rough estimate and thinking on it some more, is probably too low. I was looking at just smooth, non-surfaced concrete (what I played on in college) which I've estimated at around $7-9K in my area. The fencing I have not priced, but I can do a most of the construction myself. I also already have the land and family access to heavy equipment for grading. No lights or anything elaborate.

I've had a bit of experience with self-contracting from our recent house construction and a few years of remodeling older houses. I feel comfortable tackling a project like this, but I would definitely get to a much tighter price estimate before I would begin.

The estimates you got were probably reasonable for a turn-key job. Good luck with your basketball court.

Plus Nadal isn't moving too great right now. His knees look like they're giving him problems.

My money's on Federer again.

Yea. I saw Nadal yesterday and it was painful to watch. If he was fully recovered it would be a completely different story!

I just came on to comment about that. That match...was absolutely...insane. Those were the best highlights ever. Nutty.

I was really pulling for Stepanek, too bad he couldn't finish it out.

Then on top of that, the Robredo/Fish match was equally as entertaining. But Fish just couldn't pull it out.

Amazing tennis the past couple of days.

All glory to the hypnotoad.
