I must say this is a gritty raw film, very depressing, psychotic, and I can't say I reccomend it. Kevin Bacon does a good job, the other actors are pretty good, but man was it crazy.

he was great, reminded a little of walter from The Big Lebowski, I didn't even know he was in the movie til he appeared. We needed a little more of him though.

Hmmm... Kevin Bacon as a vengeful bad ass? I might enjoy that. The preview reminded me a bit of the movie Falling Down.

The preview reminded me a lot of the preview for "Brave One," which, coincidentally, was played right after the preview for "Death Sentence" when I went to see "The Bourne Ultimatum" a few weeks ago. I guess the movie studios decided on a theme for this fall...

Believe it or not, your comment inspired me to actually go see this movie today. I liked it. Not a brilliant film - pretty much what I expected - but still well done. Kevin Bacon was seriously bad ass with a shaved head and shotgun.
If you find straight up up action movies entertaining, go see it - you won't be disappointed. And yes, Kevin Bacon's character does have some aspects in common with MIchael Douglas in Falling down. A more modern and brutal movie, of course. It makes me want to see Death Wish now (Death Sentence, the movie, is loosely based on the novel Death Sentence which is the sequel to Death Wish).

I watched it in the nefarious webs. Meh. Certainly it did a reasonable job of indicating that the Bacon character just got sucked into a vortex from which he couldn't escape, but the initial snap was a little out of the blue. Not to mention the usual utter implausibility matters of this one guy slaughtering a dozen well-armed gang members, sometimes in hand-to-hand combat.
