Doing some cleaning and going through old boxes of junk.
We found a bunch of CO2 cartridges. They say 'Small neck 12gram" and have warnings about puncturing or burning.

I don't know anything about industrial or mechanical stuff
How can we get rid of these?

I'm no expert but I would think any gas held under pressure is dangerous. Probably no more dangerous then a can of hair spray. The only difference with the hairspray it has a mechanism to easily let the gas out.

So, since most people just toss their various hairspray or whatever cans in the trash, can we just drop these in the dumpster...?

They are dangerous when young boys get ideas about what to do with them. Otherwise they're about as dangerous as aerosol cans. Depending on your location, you may be required to recycle them or dispose of them in some other specific way-a paintball store should have the information you need on how to safely and legally get rid of them. They may even offer to buy them from you (for very little, of course).

We used to make small explosives out of those and blow computers up.. We vented the gas and then filled the empty cartridge with black powder.. put a clay cap in the end.. ran a long fuse and then kaboom.. used to make quite a mess.. thats what id do with em.. Tons of fun

Won't get you far in Amaraca. You might get arrested by the NRA for not being patriotic enough.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the danger of CO2 release into the environment and its contribution to global warming.

Wow. I am amazed at the OP posting this. Careful, you might find some rusty nails somewhere. They could cause tetanus, or even the possibility of death, if you were to shove one into someone's temple. Be very careful. Maybe you could call the government's cleanup crew/containment people to handle it for you.
