I can't answer your questions, but is this just for fun, or to make money? And do you already have money?

Play Food Fight! available free on the App Store!
Or how about a really weird (or stupid) game: Nesen Probe, it's also free.

I'm sure for a while you may be able to fly under the radar but you risk getting sued and losing your shirt.

I'd like to repeat what Mastrap said: live365.com

It's a fun thing to do. I have a station up there still, but I haven't kept it up in a long while. I've been thinking about getting back into it.

Unless you get LOTS of contributions, you'll get hammered by the royalties. What can you do that isn't already being done, and how can you market it?

Being a former nightclub DJ, and with a vinyl collection of almost 4000 LPs I also looked into it. Not gonna do it.

Good luck though.

Doesn't matter if you plan to make money or do it as a hobby the studios will want what they think is due them and they'll sue you back to the stone age if they get wind of your hobby.

Nicecast.

Cannot stand Live365, personally. Too many interruptions.

You ought to wait and find out what will come of internet radio, because there are some bills being examined by Congress that would raise the rates of internet radio to what they feel is non affordable and untenable levels.

I'm still surprised at how this internet radio fiasco is still not resolved by using simple common sense. Yes, I know some of you will laugh at that, but even Congressmen can see how ridiculous this whole thing is, and how it will affect the music business.

Sad, because I want to continue with my station.

Nicecast is illegal to use for public broadcast*, live365 isn't.

*Unless you're paying royalties yourself of course.
