God I hated that movie. Not something to see when you're 4.

All I remember from it the mother and a baby covered in jelly or blood in a tub or something. It was at the end.

That may be an insane imagined memory, but once again, I was like 4, and I haven't seen it since.

You saw it at the age of 4?

Well, that explains a lot

I can't be sure of the age. It had to be on HBO, though.

I saw it as a kid on cable, I'd guess I was around 8. I don't remember it being too scary since I watched it many times as a kid.

God, how do I tell you this... There was no scene like that in the movie at all. I'm so sorry.

I saw it when I was around 8. My older sister sleep in my room with me for weeks after that. If she didn't I would freak out thinking of the movie. That and War of the Worlds messed me up as a kid. I had bunk beds and every time I would climb the ladder I would think that eye from the spaceship would come up from the bottom bed and look at me.

Watching that movie as an adult gives you a whole different view of the family. heres what I can remember, without breaking out my DVD copy of it. (Not that I dislike any of these things, but its kind of funny realizing whats going on)

1) Parents doing drugs in bed.
2) Daughter is 16, mother is 32. (Explained during an interview)
3) Workmen in the back making some lude comments to the daughter. She flicking them off. Mom thinking it was really cute and laughing about it.
4) Mother talking about the hotel they'll be staying at. The daughter "The one on route 6?". Mom "You know it?" Daughter "ummm... no."
5) Daughter says she'll be staying at a friend's house for the night. In the morning when the house implodes, she gets out of a red sports car with some blond boy driving it.

Anyways, something to watch for. I found it all very funny in college, seeing how I remember this as a kids film.

It's not like you're breaking my world here. I saw something when I was 4. I thought it was Poltergeist. Or maybe I'm mashing several movies together.

I'll be ok.

Yeah, I know. He mentioned something about it possibly being a psychotic fuzzy memory so I was playing along.

Tangina (the scary shorter lady that seemed to know everything, but not really) also freaked me out as I felt like I knew her from somewhere

Tangina: "This house is clean." <creepy>

I left the theater.

6 years old.

Vivid Recollection. It was right about when the tree came through the boy's window that I turned to my dad and said "lets go!" My older brother was pissed.

I've got to say, I'm somewhat surprised at the amount of people in here who saw it at an age where they really shouldn't have. WOuldn't we give parents heell if they pulled that nowadays?

Classic movie.

Sad that Dominique Dunne was murdered, too.

For the record, the parents were smoking pot.
"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

The scene the sticks with me after all these years is where the guy peels his face off while looking in a bathroom mirror. It's pretty fake looking by today's standards, but back then and being 12-years-old...
