Hey Hey!

So..I haven't downloaded a version of msn messenger in..well..forever. I guess the new program is called windows live messenger? I've clicked on 3,981.5559 links to download it with no luck. They all link back to the microsoft site and it's jacked.

A) Anybody use it, and is it decent?

B) Anybody have the .0005 seconds of free time to upload the installer to their site so I can grab it?

Thanks -Mike

Never used it, sorry. But I did notice that earlier today when I tried to do my once-in-a-blue-moon check to see if my old Hotmail account had received any attention from others than Russian Viagra salesmen, I couldn’t log on. It just kept redirecting itself back and forth, until Safari told me too many redirects had been carried out during the loading of the page.

Way to go, Microsoft.

Yes indeed. They are stellar.

In the past, I've had to actually get on Internet Explorer just to download a program from their site. I tried it this time (annoyed) and it still didn't work. Winners.

I didn't have any problems downloading it through microsoft.com. It's also available at messenger.live.com. A single click on that page starts the download. This was on Safari too.

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo..._Messenger.exe is the link.

It goes to a server not found page on every browser I've tried. I found ONE website with a direct download that's not of MS's site. When I started the install, it tried to connect to the MS site and download the program. Vicious cycle of denied-ness.

Talking about the 8.5-ish version, btw. I found an 8.0 that worked. I'll use that for now.

Yea, I used to use trillian, but I felt like it bogged down my comp. Maybe it's gotten better since I last used it. I'll check it out

pidgin is a nice open source multi protocol messenger if you don't like trillian. I highly recommend it...it's simple lightweight and very fast to load.

I found that my offline messages don't come through when I use Adium. Has that been fixed? I have to log in on my PC to get them.
