Most of us I am guessing has some sort of side job of which we make money in addition to our regular job. So what kind of side jobs do you do?
I teach at a local university for some money and I also trade stocks in hope of striking it rich.

That's an interesting assumption. I find it strange that anyone would intentionally work more than one job if it weren't strictly necessary. I'm always interesting in finding ways that I can make a little more money, but not as side jobs: making money is what I do for a living.

I really have no need to make "extra" money. (Not that I am loaded.. I'm not) But I have made Extra money on ebay etc. Doing freelance graphics work. (Look up companies in the phone book that have no logo, make one for them and charge less than most people do)
Then there is always the handjobs for crack.

Running another company on the side. Not so much for the extra money, more for the fun. And I'm on the board of a third company, a start-up, giving my time for equity.

I do freelance web development on the side for a little extra cash. I do web development for a living too, but freelance tends to pay a bit more for the short stuff.

I would do that also, but my company does not offer paid OT. In fact, I could work a billion hours and come out with the same paycheck. However, it was my impression that working a lot of hours at a law firm would garner me more money. That myth has been debunked.

I was able to get a hobo gig part-time on the side. They keep cutting my weekend hours, though.

At current exchange rate, you can make approximately US$640 in southern china for being a gigolo for a night. Sadly you can't choose who you serve.

I don't have extra time to make extra dough. With a wife and kids its difficult find the time for another job. Spend time with the Mrs. Cart the kids back and forth to various activities, like gymnastics and such. When all is said and done I barely have time to catch my breath never mind have the time (or the energy) to work.

I usually go out and gig, or sometmes even play my horn outside when there are a lot of people walking about. Maybe $20-$30 bucks each time I go out. It can add up fast :-)

Isn't the entire idea of salary that you don't get paid based on time spent? Like, isn't that the defining difference between salary and hourly?

Returned my $170 blackberry pearl. Sold my 30 gig iPod and accessories for $250. Bought a $300 4gig iPhone.
Ended up with $120 bucks in pocket to get a better phone. That's how I roll.

nothing - where I work we have super flexi-hours. I rarely meet the minimum.
In fact, I think maybe it means I get a slightly smaller bonus - possibly reflects on my performance bonus.
Our bonuses are usually 2 or 3 months salary. Twice or Thrice a year.

The MacNN mods would get angry if I shared how I make some extra money on the side, so let's just say "retail sales"...
P.S. for those curiosity my product rhymes with "toop".

Fun fact: The redhead kid from the Harry Potter movies drives an ice cream truck.

I have been making some bank fixing ppl computers for them. The geek squad is a serious ripoff. I also flip laptops. You might surprised how many people think that PCs are permanently broken when they get clogged with viruses and the like. Selling my old junk on eBay is also quite profitable. It is "found" money. It is almost free, very high margin.
