Hmmm...
I have it split it two, one is higher quality bit rate which is:
~653 songs, 1.5 days, 5.24GB
the other is lower bit rate quality and off the top of my head it is:
~18.xx gb, the actual songs & days I do not remember.

A lot of Drum n Bass and a lot of crap I haven't even listened to in years. I should probably delete some of it but then I would want to listen to it again. I have about 300 CDs that are there as well.

I wish iTunes handled external drives better. I have some on my internal, and some external. I need to have two libraries to make things work - I wish it just detected whether a volume was plugged in and let you know what was available....

Hold down option when you start iTunes. You can have as many libraries as you like, but only one open at once. The problem is you have to choose one - you can't index both at once.

3402 songs, 9:12:58:35 total time, 17.38 GB (mostly LAME-encoded MP3s at -V2 --vbr-new).

I rip everything to lossless first, which I store on an external drive. Not sure how big that is at the moment.

Hey brassplayers. You like Bach, if I remember correctly. Me too. I have "Bach: The Complete Works" which accounts for 15 GB of my library. I am happy to be bested by you.

btw, macgeek, just because someone else doesn't like the style of music you do, or you theirs, doesnt mean that one music kind is supiorer to the other. why do you think there are so many genres and sub-genres and even sub-sub genres of every type of music out there? because people like different things. in the end all you have to do is play it nice and loud and all the deamons will go away; and it doesn't matter what type of music either, if you like what you hear and it's what can relax you (even hard metal can relax me sometimes), so be it.

All those songs! Why so many?

I used to have thousands but I've narrowed it down to "Lilly the Pink" by the scaffold, actually I only really like the chorus so I've used garage band to edit just that bit.

It fits on my 160GB ipod classic.
