A few vids from the grand opening of the new Apple Store at the Mall of Georgia. (Which just happened to open on my birthday ... as if I needed an excuse ...)

This first video was taken by me on my Treo 750. (Not super clear but you'll get an idea of the scope of the event.)

This second one was taken by someone else. Ironically it's in the same time-frame. (In fact, he caught me and my family in his video and I caught him in mine.)

That is cool.
I have never been to an Apple store opening, and we have three (sort of) here in Houston. Though most were already open by the time I started looking at Apple really closely except for the Woodlands, but I was unable to go to that opening.

Are they always like this? From some of the videos I have seen there are always hundreds (sometimes thousands) of people for these openings, and stores completely sell out of stock on hand usually.

It is dreams that will survive, for a dream is immortal.

This was my first opening. Well ... sort of. I went to the Northpoint store on opening day, but I went in the evening, long after the grand opening festivities. I did go to the midnight OSX Panther launch at Lenox Square. That was similar to this experience. Loads of fun ... in a geeky sort of way.

I think the Woodfield Mall in Chicago is worse. (But Lenox square is a close second.)
