Apparently Shawn Marion is thinking about leaving the Suns for another NBA team like the Lakers. To me, this looks like a bad idea, akin to what happened with Joe Johnson. Like Marion, Johnson also didn't like playing drums in a band where Steve Nash was the lead singer, Amaré Stoudemire the guitarist and Raja Bell was on bass (Okay, that's a really terrible analogy -- I must apologize; I suppose Leandro Barbosa is going to play the ukelele now?).

So what happened? Joe Johnson ended up the best player on one of the league's worst teams (Atlanta Hawks) and hasn't been heard from since.

I really hope Marion reconsiders and that Steve Kerr (the Suns' GM) doesn't pull the trigger. Shawn does the work of three or four guys on that team, is brilliant on both ends of the court, and most importantly is the one guy on the squad who is a genuine defensive stopper.

Don't go, Shawn! The Suns can't win a championship without you.
