The reason of the HIGH MILEAGE is because I travel for business very often from Miami to Seattle and San Francisco.
Ever hear of an airplane?

Cool, but not that unusual. But he claims to change the oil every 2500 miles??? That's some 372 oil changes so far, a damn waste.

You realize that with that comment you've virtually assured that he'll show up now. (Not that he wouldn't have otherwise, but...)

I don't think it's nuts. Any properly maintained car can hit 100,000,000 miles. What do you guys think would have been more environmentally friendly... replacing things as they wore out on this civic? Or producing an entirely new civic every 150,000 miles?

Exactly.

Yeah, I agree. I know most people don't feel safe with a high mileage car, but this is better for the environment.

I had a '94 Maxima SE with 247,000 on it before the transmission finally started slipping. I managed to get $1000 out of it - sold it privately to the dealer who sold me my Grand Prix GT.

Nearly all highway miles - 80-mile round trip commute for like seven years.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

Not long enough to respond.

The Civics are built great. My parents had one that I drove in high school, and when it came time for me to buy my own car, I bought an Accord. It's a V6 so it chews through a bit more gas than I'd like, but I figure next time I'll go with the hybrid. Honestly, I didn't get the car for the V6 as much as the other nice features that came on the top end Accord Coupes.

I would never get a 4banger Honda. The ones I have driven have just been torque-less wonders. I hear the "But it has V-tech at high RPMs! That helps a bit, but it doesn't replace true displacement.

I would never buy a 4banger than didn't have DOHC and at least 150hp. And it has to be a 5spd.

I am not all about "fast cars" I just like them to go when I want them to. I don't like that feeling of loosing engine power I had with the civics I drove.

Now the Accord... thats a different story. Thems pretty zippy.

The one thing that really peevs me about the Accord is that the stock stereo only does CD text on the XM aux port. No text on FM or actual CD's. And if I install an iPod kit and hook it to the second aux port, I don't get any text from the iPod.

I know most people would normally just replace the head unit with something else, but I'm not big on messing with the aesthetic of my car... Not to mention the same head unit controls my AC, and I honestly like the controls on the stock head unit. I've always thought about throwing in a Mac Mini and rigging it up with voice controls though...
