Well I sold my MacPro and it will be shipping out to his new owner in a day or so.
I hate to see the beast go, and while I have a MBP that's up to the task it is slower then a MacPro.
Being that I just bought a new truck last month, the monthly payments will be kicking in and on top of that I'm facing private school tuition for the kids. I need to get my finances in a little better shape, i.e., reduce my credit card debt
I'll reserve today for my pity party.

I thought that this thread was about a girl/boyfriend leaving. I forgot what forum I was in.
On Topic...
I'm sorry that you had to give up your Mac Pro. I'm a laptop guy, myself, but the Mac Pro at work just zips through the video work we do.

It is sad selling an old Mac that you've been using for a while, even if you have the new one already.
I sold my old 15" PowerBook and 17" iMac G5 so I could upgrade to a 17" PowerBook. I was sad when I shipped off the PowerBook.

Well done for taking a sensible step to reduce your debt load.

Thanks,
I'm not sure if this makes sense. Its not that I regret the action or my decision - I don't but I am dismayed that I sold such a great machine.
We had some un-avoidable expenses that put our credit card under duress and knowing that things don't get cheaper I figured it will be easier to reduce my debt now then later.

I was really just looking for an excuse to link to those unbelievably expensive cables.

I don’t mean to pee on your pity parade, but my MacPro just arrived today. First post from it, this is
I will, however, be selling and sending off my trusty old PowerBook in the near future, and that will be a sad parting, too, so I know (or I will know) how you feel.

Did you ever consider selling one of the kids? I'm pretty sure you would get more for one of them compared to a MacPro. You could even part them out and make at least triple.

I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

I did, but for some reason eBay frowns on selling kids - not sure why

It doesn't bother you going from portable to extremely nonportable?

Nope. I'm going from semi-portable (17" PB) to very portable (13" MB) for school work; and from semi-small (17" PB) to big 'n powerful (MP with 22" screen) for heavier at-home work.
