I remember, at least a decade ago, I had a Power Mac 6200 (with a Wintel card inside, even). This was before the second coming of Steve. I hadn't had it very long, when I happened to get a jolt of electricity from the metal case. I ended up leaving a voicemail for a "Jeanne Toulouse," and they captured the machine and replaced it very promptly.
A time or two since then, whenever I've had a particularly perplexing Apple issue, I've always left a message for this mysterious "Jeanne Toulouse," and one of her elves always returns my call promptly.
So, my question is, is Jeanne Toulouse an actual person, or just a sort-of mascot/pseudonym/sorting hat for Apple's executive customer relations department? Her voicemail greeting hasn't changed in ten years that I can tell. She seems to be happy with her career, having had the same position for a decade. Is she just some character invented by Gil Amelio or John Sculley, or is she real?
