Sorry mods if this isn't allowed, close if it is.
I'm having some HD troubles with my iMac and I am kinda thinking that I might want to get a laptop... So I'm trying to figure out if it is more worth it to sell it or keep it and fix the HD. So how much would you pay for:
iMac 20" 2 GHz Core Duo
2 GB RAM
Seemingly Busted 250 GB HD
OS X 10.4.10
SuperDrive
128 MB VRAM
Like new with all boxes and stuff.
I know it might sound like a no-brainer to keep it, but I just want to hear what you think you or someone interested would pay.
Secondly, How much would you pay if the drive WORKED?

If you're going to sell it get a new hard drive installed or else you won't get nearly what it's worth.

Already out of warranty?
You'll get more for it if you replace the drive yourself. Many people don't want to deal with the hassle of fixing a computer.

I know that, I'm just wondering what kind of prices I'm looking at.

I paid $1000 for a used one (only diff being 1.5GB RAM and working HDD) a few months ago. That was before the fancy aluminum models came out.

Look on craigslist and ebay to see what they're going for currently.

buyer beware, seemingly busted is not busted. But make sure all restore discs go with it.
Fix the HD and keep it, unless this is just an excuse to get a laptop.
