Yes, a stupid thread worthy of Besson.
I used to always wear some variation of Nike running shoes, but in the last 5 years I've gotten to really like Bass leather shoes.
What are you wearing. Today. Show us!

I took the picture first thing this morning but couldn't upload it until I got to work, aka now.
Left to right, front to back:
-Nikes for running
-K-swisses for bumming around
-flip flops (wearing now, yes it is 31° and snowing...)
-Docs for nice occasions
-Nikes for basketball/volleyball
-Pumas for lookin' good

I bought these New Balance trainers on clearance at Shoe Carnival about seven years ago. I don't actually do anything athletic, so they've lasted awhile.
I'll post pics of the rest of my shoes when I get home...all 60 pairs.

Left side - casual/athletic-ish, summer (sandals), dressy, infrequently worn... bottom left is my pair of Timberland titanium-toed workboots. I work in the office section of a manufacturing facility, and my company gives us $100 a year toward a pair of safety shoes. I'm pretty sure the soles on those are also rated to step on live wire without, you know, dying.
Right side - more athletic-ish, my Børns (I LOVE those and buy them whenever I can), boots, more dress shoes.
And my box of maybe 20-odd pairs of flip flops, for good measure.
If there was any previous doubt that I am indeed a girl, this ought to clear it up for you.
<edit>
Flickr pages have notes...I feel the need to justify my shoe purchases. Shut up.

You people are mental. It's a good job most of you have cuddle-bits to make up for it.

Hey! I need every one of those pairs of shoes!
Also not pictured are three pairs of heels (I hate hate hate high heels and only wear them when absolutely necessary) and two pairs of knee-high leather boots (brown and black).

No, that's a "womanly" shoe collection. Big difference!
My shoes...

Nike Impel walking shoes. Best fit I've ever had. Of course they're not easy to find in the 11.5-12 size range... I use them for both casual and work footwear. They pass as "professional shoes" in healthcare, so that's cool.
ort888, I never wore combat boots with the zipper in the side. I always added a zipper in the lacers if I felt I needed a zipper. Most of the time I didn't. Those tended to be pretty darn comfortable footwear once they were broken in.

I have one pair of Birkenstock Londons and one pair of Patagonia moccasins, style called "Larry."
Otherwise I'm barefoot. I guess when the time comes for me to wear dress shoes I'll have to go buy a pair.

Yeah they aren't made by "Converse" anymore. My pair are from the original breed. They are worn, but my significant other understands the importance of them. My mom on the other hand keeps trying to give me money to buy shoes cause she thinks I am destitute when I wear them.

I bought my first DrMartin shoes in 88. I've owned a 5 pair since. They last a long time, are conformable and you can wear them with anything almost. I do admit I bought them at the time because it was "trendy" but I learn to REALLY like those shoes. So people wearing them and liking them now isn't them being trendy. DrMartin just makes a good shoe.
I even have the higher top more "trendy" ones. But not to be so. I have weak ankles.
Having said that, these are the shoes I wear the most. Esp at work
I usually take them off as soon as I sit down at work. I have a HUGE chair so I sit indian style ;p
But they are really comfortable. I like my hightop docs in the winter though.
I also have this pair..
Wait.. how did that get in there..
n/m
I also have a black pair of Chuck's like Kestral's and some generic new balance running shoe I use to walk/run or do any sport basically in. And a pair of nice dress shoes that I bought 4 years ago and have worn all of 8 times I think.

My wife and I came across a couple this morning in downtown San Antonio-it was about 45˚F outside, and that's pretty darn cold for here. The young lady was wearing flip-flops and my wife asked her if her feet weren't cold. She said no, but her guy said that he thought she made him look bad by wearing flip-flops in the cold. I kind of see his point too.
