I came across this card when I was searching thru a box today, I remember that it came with my old panasonic DV camera. I read on wikipedia that the 1st SD cards only went down to 32 MB, how did this 8 MB one come about? Defective NAND flash?

(excuse my camera phone's bad picture quality)
Signature depreciated.

The camera manufacturers probably bought them all up... had to ship them with millions of cameras for years before they moved to 16MB.

Wikipedia says "As of fall 2007, SD card capacities include 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, and 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB." Perhaps you're misreading "The card was initially available in 32 and 64 megabyte capacities."? Initial doesn't imply smallest.

God. Those were fun days. When you got a camera that could take 6 shots at its highest quality. A friend of mine years back had a massive camera that used 1.2 mb floppy discs for space. Oh, those were the days.

Reminds me of the photos my parents send me. Except there would also be a big out of focus finger in the photo as well.
