Yeah.

I got a box full of bad hard drives from a guy who's a sysadmin at a university...I took them apart to get to the platters. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet - maybe refinish my coffee table with them.

The magnets were just a byproduct. Those things are strong as hell, too.

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, from the Breckenridge Brewery in (GASP!) Breckenridge, Colorado.

It's good, good stuff. Lower alcohol content than normal beer, but it's super tasty and goes great with chocolate. And mixed with Young's Chocolate Stout.

With that in mind, I'm going to go drink some more.

Hm...I can say I haven't resorted to drinking alone...yet. It just doesn't seem as fun as drinking with friends.

I never drink alone. If I want to act stupid when I'm alone, I don't need alcohol for an excuse.

Agreed. I've only enjoyed drinking as a social sport. Beer doesn't taste good by yourself.

Oh, it's not.

But I'm usally on the MacNN IRC channel at the same time, so it's *almost* like drinking with friends.

Yep. And I'll be on tonight, enjoying beer and/or vodka with my normal waffle dinner, since my evening plans just got canceled.

So, should there be a dating forum in the MacNN?

shifuimam, I'm sure a lot of guys here would love to hook up with you. You should not be drinking alone!

I don't even know how to respond to that.

RAILhead wants to be my internet boyfriend, but that's about it.

The commentary on these Seinfeld episodes sucks, BTW.

I think it's called "Every goddamn thread shifuimam posts since people noticed the Flickr link in her sig." (Not blaming shifuimam. I'm just sayin'.)

Yeah, this is the pic that got Maury (RAILhead) all hot and bothered and began this whole MacNN Shifuimam love-fest.
She seems to love the attention and plenty of the members here seem to love paying attention to her. So, it's a win-win for all parties involved. I think Shifuimam is the new (female) Salty. She has lots of posts involving introspective self-assessment (navel-gazing) and self-aggrandisement. It's hard to find a thread by her that isn't *about* her.

And while I'm not asking for any of this, I'm not going to stop it, either. Where would the fun in that be?

This thread is a bit disappointing: it has neither alcohol nor extreme geekiness. I guess drunk shif and geeks is sort of going in the right direction.

It's the latter.

I should clarify that there are previous lounge posts of mine that weren't originally about me, but turned into that.

I just thought the hard drive magnets thing was cool.
