I own that album (Sesame Street Fever).
It is nothing short of sensational. Robin Gibb featured on one track, and everything arranged and played by absolute crack session players and producers.
Really.
Absolutely incredible.

There is an album with that disco version of rubber ducky on it? Is that the album you are referring to?

I also wonder whether Snuffy was a girl or a guy? They seemed to make him intentionally asexual, as he has no penis, but talks like a man.
I suppose the same applies to Bird. I don't think there was ever an episode where it crapped out an egg.

I thought it was obvious Big Bird was a lesbian and Bert and Ernie were gay.

Sesame Street Fever, from 1979, and yes, Rubber Duckie is the last song on Side A.
Front cover:
inside gatefold:
And that "Fever" song that starts at around 2:30 into the YouTube clip is the opener - except sung by the Sesame Street muppets, rather than instrumental.
" - tuh, tree, forr ah, I'm counting in Disco! I lahv it! Ah ah ah ah...!"
I'm really lucky because my parents figured at the time that vinyl didn't belong in children's hands, so they made me a cassette copy, and when that went, I got another. When I eventually got into vinyl and pulled all my old records out of my parents' record rack, it was in pristine condition, waiting for me.
I really love this album.

The original Snuffy looked demonic.
It didn't have a penis either. I keep looking to see if Snuffy has a penis, but I never see one.

That's actually quite disturbing. Looking at a puppet to see if its anatomically correct?
What's next buying dolls and undressing them?

Hey you want to watch sesame street and fantasize about the puppets sexual organs, more power to ya. Just seems kind of bizarre (in a creepy sort of way).

I think your face ought to have a penis! Not a big deal, I just think that's the way the natural order of the universe should work!
Snuffy could be androgynous, you know....

Have you ever known a robot to have a penis? They aren't all girls, you know.

Well, robots can't reproduce. Snuffies can, because a Snuffy is just your garden variety brown elephant with eyelashes.

Yes, it is.
And I assure you, the production work is nothing short of immaculate.
This is not some "Well,-kids-can't-tell-the-difference-anyway" children's record.
