You own the copyright automatically. There's nothing you need to do.

What Mastrap said is correct: You automatically own the copyright to works you create unless you transfer it to somebody else. However, it can be useful to have proof in case there's a dispute. The Copyright Office has instructions on its Web site about registering a work. But that costs a bit of money, so it's not necessarily something you want to do for every little thing you create.

You protect logos by trademarking them.

Ok, but how do i do it?

I have a logo and slogan. I plan to include the bio of this company on wikipedia, i I include them, would it help to support my case for copyright or trademark?

Sorry for all the silly questions, but I'm novice on this.

If you are the company, yes, but a designer trying to sell them might copyright the designs.

Consult an IP lawyer if you do this for anything more than fun. It is complex, and can be expensive to make a mistake.

You worry too much. I do this kind of thing for a living and there are very, very few cases of copyright infringement in the corporate sector. Its simply not done, people know they can't get away with it. If it does happen it is almost always an unfortunate accident.

Copyright and trademark are two very different things btw. There are registered trademarks, do a google search for this, and trademarks that are established by use.

No need for that. Copyright and trademarks are established by use, there is no need to pay a lawyer, especially not for a small business.

Actually, the slogan and the logo would be for my company, I plan to use them in my web site. Although I'm still trying to come out with a name for the company

I have many ideas, but most Domains.com are taken already.

If it's for a small business you have little to worry about. What do think will happen? Somebody else will try and steal it? I understand your feelings in this respect, almost everybody who is a first time business owner goes through the same emotions. After a while you realize that building the business is far more important than protecting a name. You can always do that later, if needed.

If you want to copyright/trademark this item, please PM me. I work for an IP law firm that can help you with this issue.
