It reminds me of a story that happened a few years ago near Montréal. A father who had been on social welfare for a while finally managed to get a job in a Zellers store (retail store like Target), just in time for Christmas. While emptying the trash, he found a few chocolate bar that were past their expiry date and were bound to be destroyed. Thinking this could be a great bonus to put in his children's socks, he tried to bring them back home, but his employer "caught" him and fired him for theft!

On a similar note, I read that many retail stores (including Zellers) were destroying (compacting) their trash to prevent the poor from salvaging goods that were still useful from them... Even during Christmas.. What a crooked world.

By the way, for those who haven't seen the muffin top commercial referenced above, here's the link!

whats really screwed up is when a homeless man digs through your trash and gets injured and sues you... so you spend $10k on a trash compactor so you cant get sued again...

the fact that people are becoming so helpless and wont take the blame for anything is bullshit!

Is it? I think that is an urban myth. Can you show me any real cases of this?

The link you gave is to a forum, and the link from that to the article is dead - anything to an actual example with the whole story?

No, no, no, light speed is too slow. We're gonna have to go right to ludicrous speed!

There is no link to anything other than that he had talked with a personal injury lawyer. Do you have anything that shows a suit was actually filed, or what the outcome was?
