gofridge's prayers to the Golden Calf were answered today when the Bears defeated the evil Packers to sweep them this season and the Eagles got their revenge on the Saints for last season's playoff loss.
gofridge especially liked it when the Packers' punt was blocked and the Bears ran seven yards for a touchdown. gofridge's second favorite part was when Brian Urlacher intercepted Brett Favre's pass and ran 85 yards for a touchdown.
gofridge will now ask the Golden Calf to have the Packers lose in their first playoff game.
In other news, gofridge has learned that the Fridge has gotten a new set of teeth. gofridge is happy that the Fridge will now be able to eat more than ever before.

Yeah seeing that punt get blocked was pretty sweet. I'm happy the Seahawks beat the Ravens.

Most teams ease off a lot after they clinch their division.
It's like the Colts at the end of last season. Most people had written them off after losing 3 of the last 5 games.

gofridge disagrees. gofridge believes that gofridge's prayers to the Golden Calf were why the Bears dominated the Packers today.

Yeah, the 'Hawks are doing that. They played pretty well today though, besides two interceptions. We should have had 14 more points.

So the Bears are in the playoffs since they're better than the Packers...
oh wait! No, they're not.
Because the Bears suck rocks. Winning a game every now and then is an absolute minimal requirement for an NFL team. The Bears are on par with the Bengals this season.
They are a laughable team. The Packers are laughing all the way to the playoffs while the Bears are just going to take a looooong vacation until next season.

The Packers lost three games this season, and the Chicago Bears beat them both times. What does that really say about the Packers, who are supposed to be such a great team? I can't wait to see them lose their first playoff game this year, because they sure's hell aren't going to the Super Bowl. They might meet the Cowboys in the championship game, but they're not going to be Romo and the Cowboys.
I'm a Bears fan and have been all my life, and I'm pretty content that they beat the Packers twice this year. I'm okay with them not making the playoffs, not a big deal to me right now. Rex Grossman will be gone soon, Donovan McNabb has a great chance at becoming the starting QB in Chi-Town, so next year should be really interesting. If we do get Donovan, all we'll need is a good running back to replace that P-O-S Cedric Benson.
DA BEARS!

Did you really expect them to do well this year though? I mean, how often does a team go to the Super Bowl, then do great the next season? Not often. Except the Seahawks (kidding, we're just doing pretty good, not great)

You're absolutely right. I knew they wouldn't do that well, especially since they got rid of Thomas Jones (who I was really starting to like a lot) and so many great defensive players. They were doomed from the start. But like I said, as long as they beat the Packers both times, I'm pretty damn content.

After seeing how the cowboys were humiliated at home by the eagles, I'm confident they can't make it to the Superbowl.
As for the Bears... That's a team not worth talking about this season. You can try to put down the Packers, but coming from a Bears fan it's just sour grapes.
Sad really.

The playoffs sure will be interesting this year. Who will be facing the Patriots in the Super Bowl? I'll give the Packers this much, them and the Cowboys are the only two NFC teams that look really good, and I have a feeling it will be one of them in the Super Bowl. I just don't think the Pack have it to go all the way.

IDK. It will be an interesting SuperBowl. I think that the Packers are getting a bit burnt out. I don't think they can keep it together for long enough.

Boy, what a sad game. I was there, it was unbelievably cold, froze my ass off.
At any rate, the Packers played their worst game of the season, and the Bears their best. So yes, the Pack sucked that day. But it doesn't matter, they are definitely the better team.
I predict the Packers meeting the Cowboys again at the NFC championship game. This time, it's gonna be a much closer game.

They usually don't anymore or at least they don't try to. Sure was nice seeing him run that back for a TD.

It was just so comical. The announcers were commenting about how the punter had done such a great job keeping it away from him, and then 10 seconds later he's breaking it into the open field.

What the heck is a Packer anyway? I mean, I have heard of Bears, Eagles, Lions and stuff since I was a little child. Very noble creatures indeed. But the only thing that comes to mind when I hear "Packer" is the dude who put the groceries in the bag at the supermarket! What is the deal with that?
And Voodoo, the only excuse you really need to pick on the Packers is to live around Chicago awhile. They have been doing it since... Chicago and Green Bay have had football teams.

Dude, not every team's name represents an animal ?
Chargers, Titans, Texans, Browns, Patriots, Vikings, Steelers etc...

Packers finish the season with a confident 13-3 which is more than the Bears can hope to boast by far.
Which is the better team?
The Green Bay Packers, by far.

In a head to head competition, the Bears are the better team. In terms of the whole NFC, the Packers are the better team. It just depends on your metric for a successful season. Not getting back to the playoffs sucks, but beating the Packers twice is a nice consolation prize.

I don't think there were many rechargeable portable electronics in 1960.

Haha, I never said the Bears were a great team (at least this year). I only said they were better than the Packers head to head. Most sporting events are about match ups. Everyone loves the NCAA tournament, but if the seedings were changed just a little bit, you could get a totally different outcome because there usually isn't a Condorcent Winner, or a winner that would beat all other 64 teams (counting the 65th play in team).
