I was hoping for an accordion for Christmas this year, but I never got one... My wife thinks that they are annoying.

Does anybody here play the accordion? I would like to learn more about the accordion, because accordions make me happy.

You still have time to go to the annual AAA Board Meeting/Holiday Party on January 15.

Wow, this woman is the president of the AAA:

She looks like she really knows her ****, passionate, and doesn't let anybody push her around.

Plus, she looks very happy.

Pick up some Weird Al albums. He's an awesome accordion player.

Oddly enough, my roommate and downstairs neighbor play accordion.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

We all know why you really want to play the accordion (bowchikawowow). No wonder your wife doesn't want to get you one!

My gf has a squeezebox, is that the same thing?

Buy your own accordion. And yes, they do sound annoying over time.

You know those connectors that connect those elevated ramps that lead people out to airplanes from terminals within airports? They've always reminded me of accordions.

Also, there are file folders that kind of look like accordions.

To be honest, I too wanted an accordian for christmas. It didn't make the list this year, but I asked for one last year. Before that I recieved a guzheng, which sadly I've neglected, perhaps leading to their reluctance in giving me an accordian. I need to start playing that "twangie-table" more often!

But perhaps it's my Eastern European roots that make me long for the accordian.

My two brothers played the accordion in the 60's and my mother wanted me to as well when I was old enough (early 70's). We were all quite good with it and they continued to play but I thought they were geeky and dropped the squeezer. IMO, now they're pretty cool when coupled to the right mix of musicians -- polka bands and the trad sets often bore me but I've seen some contemporary juxtapositions that are amazing.

Anyone ever see Shultze Gets The Blues? A quirky but very fun foreign film. How can ya not dig a little Zydeco?
