This is pretty cool I guess...
Here you can see a Mercedes-Benz E-Class that apparently went off the road and hit a tree. Exciting stuff for the interwebs.

Link

Edit: Here's another wreck. Well, wreck of a car. Scroll left to see a horrendous Buick. Link

How do you know ?

Maybe the tree went off the sidewalk and attacked the car...

I don't see it. Are you talking about the Buick with the streaks on it?

Hey-O.

If you turn the view about 180˚ you'll see a "normal" Buick, it looks like there was some motion blur, that's what I thought you might be talking about.

How many towns have this "street view" thing, and how is it being done?

I said a little bit to the right. There is a Buick Regal. It is blue with a green stripe and huge chrome wheels. Here's a screenshot:

Do they send people out to pick a random street and whirl around with a camera? How is this being done?

it seems in some pics that there is blur. i think that they might be sending out cars with 360º cameras attached taking pictures every second or so.

I've seen one.

They have a sport-ute with an octagonal turret mounted on top. Each facing has an all-weather lens protector, so one can surmise there are 8 cameras inside.

minneapolis - what a shock an accident - the driver was probably doing 20+ over the speed limit
