Specific questions ...
What outlet adapter do I need? (I know nothing about them. BTW, I just need a basic/general adapter; I'm probably not taking my Mac.)
Will my (AT&T / Cingular) cell phone work in Korea? If not, do you recommend phone rental?
I will traveling to South Korea within the next few weeks (international adoption) and would love to hear from those who've been there. We'll have a few days to see some sites and experience the culture. Any recommendations, tips, cautions/warnings, etc.?

Thanks.
I've been doing some research and a lot of people say that hotels may have adapters available for use.
FWIW, here's the info on cell phone rentals in South Korea.

South Korea has 240V outlets. I can't remember what specific adapter you need, but I am sure Walmart has an appropriate travel adapter. I got a travel book for Korea and read it from end to end, and I was glad I did.
I hope you like seafood, because you don't want to skip the sashimi.
When you are invited to a Korean house for dinner/party/etc, bring a small present.
Learn as many Korean phrases as you can to impress the locals.
Buy a Magicjack to stay connected to your home country.

Thanks, Godfather!
I will check into the MagicJack, which I had not heard of. I wasn't planning on taking my laptop, but this might be another reason to do so.
Re: small gifts, we had heard that (from our adoption agency) but we haven't read/heard of any kinds of examples of small gifts (except that the women in the Korean adoption office like chocolate!). Any examples?
And we will keep an eye out for the sashimi.

Korea uses CDMA. I have AT&T (GSM) and don't get any signal in Korea. I do fine in China, Hong Kong and Macau with GSM, but nothing in Korea. People I have travelled with that were on Verizon (CDMA) were fine in Korea.
