Why in the world? I'm known for my excess in HT, it's almost legendary. But even I wouldn't fork out that much $$$ for such a thing, not when projectors are so much more flexible and inexpensive.

I would go for a projector before that. There is only so big you can go before you would be better off with a projector.

I just researched and their 103-inch version cost about $70,000.00USD.

This thing must run $150K?

I'm not sure how it will really be consumer-oriented. Hate to say it, but I think it's too darn large!

I was in the Samsung showroom-store here in NYC and they had a 80" plasma. It was *huge*. Photos do not seem to give a proper idea of how big these >80" tvs are.

Here's a still I took from Gizmodo.com's video of the TV. It gives a good idea of how big it is.

OMFG!!! WTF!!! BBQ!!!!!

That's not a monitor, it's a space station!

Is it still a monitor if you can measure it in multiple (12.5!) feet?

In other words, I'm quite impressed. I don't know if I could afford the electricity to run it, but I'm impressed.

Well, with as much heat as that would put out, you wouldn't need to spend any money on heating bills in the winter.

Ha ha. I doubt that this is something that consumers would buy. However, I could see it being useful in some businesses and venues.

That's what I was sort of thinking. It would be really great for concert halls, sports bars, stadiums, and the like.

The problem I have with the Alienware monitor is that the resolution is only 2880x900px. I'd rather buy a 30" Apple or Dell monitor and get 2560x1600px.

The depth of the Alienware monitor isn't too great either.

If you turn it on it's end and stand it long ways up, suddenly apes would be frolicking around it throwing bones at each other.

I took some pictures of there ultra thin LCD's but I don't think I took a single photo of the 150" display.

Later on, while passing by the guy that was presenting the big display, I asked him if they were going to try for a 200" next year. I don't know the guys name, it was the guy in the photo above.
