I don't really think this belongs in the politics thread, as this thread isn't about name calling and shouting at each other. Here's the scoop - every year, my school does a fund raiser where the staff creates compilation CD's that create some theme and they're auctioned off for charity. I thought of doing a political theme this year, but I need to some ideas for other songs to add in. I can't (or shouldn't) put songs that are too hot button or full of profanity. Here's what I have so far:

War (Edwin Starr)
Fortunate Son (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
Rich Man's War (Steve Earle)
Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who)
War On Drugs (Barenaked Ladies)
Born In the U.S.A. (Bruce Springsteen)
Money (Pink Floyd)
Wake Up (Rage Against The Machine)
I've got a crush on Obama (Obama Girl)
America (Neil Diamond)
God Bless The USA (Lee Greenwood)
The Star Spangled Banner (Beyoncé)

Any good ideas of things to add?

Pink Floyd's entire "Final Cut" album. Came out about the time the Fauklands were invaded, very anti-war. In fact it's more so about politics than music many would say I'm one of the few who thinks its a damn good album though, maybe you'll be too.

Stevie Wonder - "Jesus Children of America" funkay!
- "Living for the City"

Dire Straits - "Brothers in Arms" sad song, but beautiful

Tool - "Right in Two"

Tear Garden - "Isis Veiled" personal favorite

David Bowie - "Cygnet Committee" kinda long-winded but has a point.

I might post more as I brows iTunes

If you want to hear some good, often politically-oriented songs, listen to Nevermore.

War Pigs - Black Sabbath: about as anti-war as you can get if you still like death and all that:

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds
Oh lord yeah!

also Dead Kennedys - Kill the Poor
