It's snowing right now. It seems like it's snowed everyday (but I know it's been less than that, but still). Never enough to cancel school (only happened once this year so far), but it's always just enough to mess things up. It seems like it always snows this perfect little amount so it will congest traffic, make neighborhoods very dangerous (sorry bunny and Acura that I almost hit), and makes your car filthy. If you want a clean car you have to pay a stinking $7.50 for a stupid machine car wash, because you can't wash your car at your house when the highs are in the mid 20˚s. It's supposed to snow from Friday to Monday nonstop. I can't wait. And I hate my stupid driveway. It's a craptastic 40˚ angle almost, which is great when you have to get up the driveway which happens to be a sheet of ice from freezing rain and you don't have 4wd.
Rant over.

I love the snow. It snowed here in boston quite a lot before Christmas. Since then the weather patterns have changed and it hit 64 degrees yesterday and high 50s today. So who's saying there's no global warming??
I'm hoping for more snow as the winter progresses

When I was younger, I loved the snow, but as I got older, so did it, and it now only gets in the way and makes things harder.

Not really, December was turning into that, but now with temps in the 60s its hard to imagine a lot of snow

I'm older and I still like the snow. Of course here's the ironic piece. I absolutely hate the cold.

What's the point in washing your car if you know it WILL be dirty 3 hours later? Why don't you wait until the end of winter anyways?

I like the snow when I have to drive to it. It's been getting chilly here. It's been down to even 49 degrees on occasion.

This thread is sorely lacking in pictures.
So far, we have a gophur and a couple trucks. They'd count if there was snow on them.

you are complaining about snow in colorado! we have the most mild winters for areas that get snow on a regular basis... go to a lower latitude and enjoy the bugs!
I get to go skiing in crested butte this weekend... and I am very excited!

I also love driving in the snow, but then my truck is absolutely great in those conditions.
On the other hand I noticed a mustang struggling with a 1/2 inch of snow. It was literally stuck in the snow unable to move - it's rear wheels spinning. It backed up traffic just because the car could not get out of the intersection.

Yeah if it snows in Mississippi I will be very busy with all the wrecks...but heck I'll refuse to drive the fire truck cause I wouldn't know how to drive it! We do have snow chains but have no clue how to operate them or with them...oh well.

I wouldn't want to do that either. I use my Firetruck as a purely summer vehicle.
I can see I'm going to be random today.

I think I saw snow once last year, somewhere north, in upstate NY.
It was nice for scenic purposes, and very convenient for getting rid of disobedient minions.

It would be a bit better with 4wd. My school is up a huge hill with a light at the bottom. I have to go around it if I get stuck at the light because it's about impossible to make up. The Xterra can do it just fine though.

Actually. Yes. I had to replace all the brakes on a 2 year old car because the salt buildup had rusted them out.
Not to mention cars look horrible with salt all over them and and the windows must be cleaned at the very least.

I've seen a 2002 Acura TL for sale with basically no not rusty chassis due to the salt.

A nor'eastor is bearing down on us, here in Boston. They're forecasting > 12 inches for Boston. I'll believe it when I see it. I'm hoping to see some serious snow though

I love snow. I just don't have to deal with it. Not that I have time to go anywhere where I can enjoy it, but I'm glad that it exists in Colorado and Vermont and not nearly so much in Texas. I grew up in Southeastern Michigan, and January was typically snowy. I got really sick of shoveling the walk and driveway, of the ugly that comes from even non-salted roads, and of the way everything for the first yard inside the door was wet and nasty most of the time because of snow and melted snow being tracked in. I left there in 1979 and have only been back in winter once (before it started snowing).
Around here it's not odd to see a 10 year old car without a speck of rust. Around here a hole in an exhaust system is almost certainly because of bad driving or driving over the wrong surface (or both), rather than just something that happens and makes you buy a whole new exhaust system.
When I retired from the Air Force, my wife asked "Do you want to move back home to Michigan? We've lived in the South and Texas your whole career, but you can go wherever you want now." Hell no! I don't ever want to have to own a snow shovel again! But if I want to play in snow, I know where to go.

Well its before 7:00 here and boston and so far this nor'easter the weather folks have been salivating over hasn't really produced too much snow. It was raining up until 4:00am. I decided to work from home because I thought it was going to be a large storm. Kinda disappointed.

Every time they predict one of these storms more than three days in advance the storm fizzles.
The weather guessers have been saying that this Nor'easter was going to bury us.
The Whether Channel indeed.

Man that stuff is heavy. I just finished shoveling my sidewalk and driveway. Took an hour to shovel around 4 to 6 inches. Heavy wet snow. At least I don't have to worry about getting to the gym today, I already had my work out.

I always used to love that when I worked at a grocery store -- the store would be hella busy from all the paranoid idiots stocking up in case they're trapped in their house for a month. Get a grip people.
