I had thought to discuss various resolutions we may have made earlier but I got sidetracked. As it turns out, that's probably a good thing-it's "popular knowledge" that most resolutions don't survive the first week of the year. Well here we are almost through the second week-let's see how we're doing!
My own resolutions-not terribly formal-are to eat better, be more active (like hanging out her helps!), and to complete more projects (which requires thinking them through better before starting them). Here's my status:
I have been getting my "3-5 servings of vegetables" and then some, along with staying away from really bad foods pretty darn well. It's taken a little thought, but it's working and I feel pretty good about it.
Being more active has a few interpretations, but I intend it to mean that I should do more walking and less sitting. I've managed to stay on my feet a lot more over the past week, visiting a couple of very large outdoor malls just to have the space to walk. Oh, and on level terrain-my neighborhood is anything but level, and I want to work up to that carefully.
I have worked on two projects I started a long time ago through the past week, and I've made enough progress to say that I think I'll finish them within the next week. Another one, messing with a couple of desktop PCs I have lying around to make one really good one and another "eh" one that I can donate to Goodwill, is in progress. I have some hardware issues to deal with, and the dreaded "reinstalling Windows" in front of me, but it's a fairly easy project.
So there's my blogy report on my own (and surviving!) resolutions. What's everyone else doing about their new year and any resolutions they've made?

Well, as I mentioned in another thread somewhere, one of mine (over the past two years) was to lift weights regularly. I've actually been doing it so far this year, and I've already improved in benching about 25 lbs. The burn is incredible

My resolution doesn't really kick in until summer. I want to spend more time outside. Camping, yardwork...doesn't matter. I just need to get out more. (Hard to do when it's -10 ˚K out, so this waits until summer.)

Been eating better. I've had a couple of "bad" meals, but I think depriving one's self completely leads to disaster.

And amazing site that breaks down and simplifies the entire process. I've been working out using their charts and recommendations for a couple of months now and I feel like I'm on top of the world. I have plenty of energy and its help combat against my depression that hits me from time to time. I feel more confident now and can see the positive changes in just about every aspect. Once you get past the first stages of you'll know immediately that you'll never return to the old ways and the old habits.
Good luck and never quit. It's a life long commitment but this we'll be one commitment that you'll do happily.

Tough it out. Bundle up, get everything you'll need to enjoy the winter weather. Learn how to build and igloo and enjoy the beauty that's to be seen in the winter time. You're not promised or guaranteed tomorrow.
How to build an igloo. You can be very toasty in one of these. You can even build a fire in side. Do-it-Do-it!

My New Year's resolution was to start the year with the month of January, instead of August. Worked pretty well so far.
Next year I might start with July though
