What they don't tell you is that the track probably costs about $10k. They demo'd this to show off the magnets.

Fascinating. Do the existing Maglev trains in Japan work on the same superconducting principle, or are they just normal magnetic repulsion?

Nothing to do with superconductors. They are electromagnetically levitated.

The one in Shanghai is bloody bumpy and noisy so I suspect it doesn't work like these ones.

No real-world full-size maglev works like that toy train in the video.

Nature is cruel, you know. I see no future for cryogenic approach to magnetic levitation in everyday needs. So, switched to another solution - magnetic levitation devices
I will think about toy-sized train without liquid nitrogen, yes.
