When the database glitched, it wrote an inaccurate timestamp on the post. This is really, really, REALLY difficult to get at, let alone fix in the post itself. Editing the post didn't help. A really simple solution-deleting the post-hadn't occurred to me until today. It worked. Case closed. Thanks for the hilarity. Again. It's embarrassing enough to be responsible for a tear in the time-space continuum-don't keep rubbing it in!
