Hi, for my PC, I've got an SB Audigy 2 ZS, and just upgraded to a Logitech Z-5500. The Z-5500 has analog surround input (front, rear, center/sub) as well as Coax and Optical audio. I want to get the best sound quality possible, would it be better to use the analog audio from my audigy? Or to use the onboard optical audio? The MOBO is an asus Ai lifestyle, which has some puny little sound max processor...

I'm no expert, but I think you have to use the optical audio port if you want to get 5.1 surround with the speakers (the Z-5500 is 5.1, right?). If you connect it via analog, you'll only transmit a stereo signal.

I am pretty sure the audigy card would have 5.1 via analog cables and the z-5500 have analog 5.1 inputs.

You want coax or optical (both are digital). You don't even need the Audigy if the onboard sound has coax or optical.
