so i ordered toast 8 on the 29th and it is listed as shipping on 2/4. why would it take 5 days to ship? shouldn't they at least ship it the next business day or worst case 2 business days? I did go with the free super saver shipping and i'm okay with slow shipping just not slow handling. I haven't ordered from amazon in a while, is this how they normally handle stuff?

On a positive note I ordered blank dvds from new egg on a monday late night chose the free shipping and got them on wednesday. I was very pleased.

When you select super saver shipping, you are at the lowest priority queue.

They fulfill next day, 2nd day shipping orders first.

Why wouldn't you just go to the Roxio site and download it?

Buying it for your gran and she needs a printed manual or something?

Yeah I would have downloaded it too.

I have Amazon prime (a great deal, as you can share it with other members of your family) so every order is free (prepaid) 2 day shipping. I can order, as you said, late monday, and usually get whatever it is on Wednesday if it's in stock... no shipping charges at all.

I do remember though before I had prime, free super save shipping or whatever it is does suck the big one.

Right then, that's the last I want to hear off anyone about global warming and all that guff. If it's cheaper to get the physical product (with box and manual) delivered (via a diesel-chugging truck) than it is to download a copy, it's all crap.

I posted a thread on this a while ago. Amazon seems to hold some order for a week or two when you opt for the free shipping method. It seems more of a business decision to "penalize" you for going with the free shipping. I tried buying a book that said it available < 24 hours and opted for free shipping. two weeks later I was still waiting. I contacted amazon and they basically told me to read the fine print on when it was going to ship with the free shipping.

if the free super saver shipping will go out via USPS; there is a wait. if it goes UPS it usually ends up coming in two days.

i made two different orders on the same day for something in stock/24 hours. one came by USPS and took 11 days. one came UPS, got it in 2 days. same size box, same weight (items weren't the same though). the box was the typical 4 x 8 x 12 size. and yes, both orders i chose the free super saver shipping.

I placed an order for a few DVDs on Christmas day. They didn't ship out until the 7th of this month.

And yes, they were all in-stock.

cheaper on amazon, not sure why though. shouldn't roxio be the cheapest since they make the software, and since it's a download only no cost for packaging or shipping or materials. If I ordered tuesday no reason why my order can't ship within 48 hours, that is not unreasonable.

I usually have great luck with their super saver shipping. Normally it only takes them about 2 days to get to me.

That said, every now and then, I will hit some sort of weird delay and it will take forever. Probably has to do with where they are shipping from.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

a 5 day delay for shipping? order on a tuesday ship on a monday? that isn't cool. I usually order stuff from amazon and it ships from KY being in TN I usually get it in a 2 -3 days. I was hoping to have the item by Monday. Oh well I can wait, I just like to complain.

I ordered in stock books from Amazon, that took 14 days to arrive. 7 day wait before shipping.

Overseas bank transactions are worse… I did one last Monday, 22 and as today I am still waiting a notification about the guy getting the money. Meh. D'oh. Whatever.

As Thomas Jefferson used to say, banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
