I want so many new things, as many of you probably know from my frequent posts on here.

I want the following

New TV to replace old one with burn in and outdated technology
New Digital Camera to replace 4 year old sony which takes not so great usually blurry low light photos
New Receiver old one only has 2 component inputs and no hdmi and I have multiple HD sources
Xbox 360 or PS3 to replace ps2
Nintendo Wii - Wii bowling rocks

Do I need any of them, of course not. Can I afford them? well not all of them at least not all at once. I could get a second job, but then I wouldn't have time to enjoy all my new gadgets. Am I materialistic, aren't we all to some extent? Maybe me more than others. Anyway I am going to hit up best buy and circuit city after work to see what items I can add to my list and drool over more gadgets which I may or may not be able to afford.

actually i am using that to pay for a yearly trip to Vegas with friends we take which i was unable to attend last year due to my job. $600 will get me airfare and 3 nights in a hotel. I love Vegas more than technology.

What's this have to do with technology?

Ok, so I would say that's why i LOVE COMMUNISM.

You get everything you want, and have only to produce mediocre work results.

Sounds like win-win to me

without technology all i'd need is a bird or animal to do everything like in the Flintstones.

Why do you love me?
Why do you need me?
Always and forever

We met in a chat room
Where love can fully bloom
Sure the World Wide Web is great
But you, you make me "salvavate"

Yes I love technology
But not as much as you, you see
But I still love technology
Always and forever

Our love is like a flock of doves
Flying up to heaven above
Always and forever
Always and forever

Yes, your love is truly great
Always and forever

Why do you need me?
Why do you love me?

So you're whining about technology because you cannot afford all the new toys.

If you could afford them all right now, you'd have about two days of fun. Then there would be something else you don't have that would make it "fun" again. It's a never ending cycle.

My wish? That I could dump it all for about two weeks and travel the world. THEN I'd be happy . . .

You should seriously think about dis-engaging from consumerism. I think you'd be happier. I'm not really kidding.

To be fair, there are places in the world where 600 will buy you a top class hooker, but vegas isn't one of them....
