Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is OK to post this here, if not, please move or remove but we're having very hard time with filling Mac support positions. It's a long-time, full-time Mac support position for a biomedical research facility, a part of one of the major universities in NYC. Since this post is informal I can't give more info here, email me for more. We're not getting official results from HR and head hunters, just PC techs with "MAC experience" so I decided to do some search by myself
Basic requirements:
He/she has to be a real Mac geek (not a PC tech with "some" MAC experience). Can't be a Mac zealot though with negative attitude towards PCs. Basic knowledge of PCs is a plus and you will be expected to learn basic PC troubleshooting, as well as share your Mac know-how with PC techs. A real cross-platform geek would be the best, but that's hard to find
You can't be squeamish or "animal rights activist", the job involves working around research labs where experiments are done on mice, rats and smaller animals, you may see bloody rats bodies cut open, their brains on dishes, etc. No human subjects/parts though.
The candidate must live in New York City or outer Boroughs within reasonable distance from East Midtown. Last time I received lots of emails from out-of-state folks but we can't offer any relocation help whatsoever and we're looking for someone who can start quickly.
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. We can't sponsor or extend/renew any visas, etc.
Formal computer education is not required but a plus, Apple certifications also a big plus, but above all real experience with Macs required. You will be given some tests
Friendly, outgoing personality, team oriented, forthcoming with information, communicative.
If you'd like you can come for an informal interview first.

Thank you!
