They won't even let us *buy* movies through iTunes, how are they gonna let us rent them?
Notice the difference between the American AppleTV page and the Canadian one:

American:
"Movie rentals. Coming soon.
All the new features of Apple TV — including movie rentals and more — are coming soon as a free software upgrade for current owners."
Apple - Apple TV

Canadian:
"Coming soon.
All the new features of Apple TV — are coming soon as a free software upgrade."
Apple - Apple TV

I hope you're right, as Canadians might fire up bittorrent a little less if they could rent movies online.

Think about how... I have full access to Movie Rentals (US iTunes). I can buy and rent movies, TV Shows...

$5 to the person who figures out how to do it. If you know how, don't disclose it on this thread, but PM me. We can cross reference and see if we are using the same method.

Well, 18 days ago you started a thread asking if it was possible for you to get an American bank account, where you yourself concluded you could. You might have gone through the trouble of doing so and applying for a credit card. Maybe even one of those prepaid ones for teenagers.

Or you could have gone the absolute simplest route: getting an american iTunes gift card.

Do I get a cookie?

Well, there's nothing super secret about that method. People were doing that before they had itms in their countries

Exactly my point. I can't imagine freudling accomplishing anything which isn't already public knowledge.

I like how the voice in this subject is passive, as though being Canadian were some kind of crime or social faux-paus.

If one had pirated movies on one's computer and didn't want anyone else to know... how would one remove such movies?

It’s not. Active voice, impersonal pronoun.

In fact, both finite verbs in the subject have no passive equivalents.

Why the obnoxious "see who can guess" approach?

All I know is that I have an American credit card, and I've had full access to the American iTunes store from Germany. But for years now everyone has known about that.

If SirCastor were a transexual, how would one find out?

I can't imagine Visnaut accomplishing anything that is either public knowledge or secret.

I have not posted my method, neither will I. The point is to get a feel for others who are using the US iTunes store who are in Canada, or, I guess, in other countries. I know there are a few methods, thought someone might have other creative ones.

Aww, quit it guys, we hurt his feelings. He's resorted to ad hominem rebuttals and greater-than-thou statements.

Listen, I don't dispute that you've found a novel and creative way of buying/renting movies from the U.S. iTunes Store. I merely suggest that the end result is neither novel or heretofore unknown. You could be bouncing lasers off the moon for all I care, Apple still gets your money one way or another. So you'll excuse me if you consider me unimpressed.

You are right. Apple does get our money in the end. With their imminent hegemony on video, in addition to their dominance of the digital music industry, things seem to be unfolding ironically for Apple fans. Namely, Apple is becoming more and more like a Microsoft.
