They bought Danger today, makers of the Sidekick:

Microsoft buys Danger, Windows Mobile Sidekick imminent - Engadget

It's not an extremely popular phone, but it does make Microsoft a phone hardware manufacturer, and you can bet they'll be targeting the iPhone with the Sidekick.

I'm sure they are going to be as successful as with the Zune

I said they'd be targeting the iPhone. I didn't say they'd be successful.

Maybe they'll re-brand the company and rename the phone to sound more Zune-ish. No doubt they'll give it an edgy name which is either misspelled or not a word at all, a la Gen-Y branding.

Not really. Just means Danger will have added Microsoft support.

I always thought dangers were beastly devices. Windows Mobile will go with it rather nicely.

They didn't sell actual mobile phones.
