Man, what a great show. I remember watching this as a kid. It did the job because it helped launch my interest in computers and everything science. I miss shows like this, what can you say? They just don't make 'em like they used to. Another show I got hooked on was Newton's Apple.
It's not quite as cool as the Doctor Who theme song video, but man, what a GREAT intro song. I also loved the Bloodhound Gang that would periodically show on 3-2-1 Contact.

Both of those were my favorite shows. And Newton's Apple was made here in Mpls, too. The first host, Ira Flatow, is on NPR's Science Friday now, one of my current favorite shows!
