I haven't gotten a chance to start one of these threads in all my years here, so I though I'd better jump at the chance:

I'd buy on in a heartbeat, regardless of the color.

I need something a little more powerful then an iMac but not as much horsepower as a MacPro

I haven't seen it on the site, but news sites are reporting that the iPod shuffle is $49.

I think it's cool to shut down THE ENTIRE FRAKKING STORE just to change a price.

I agree, its getting rather old to shut everything down, but apple does seem to enjoy the dramatic.

1GB shuffle for $49, and now for $69 you can search through twice as much music to find the song you want to play without a screen.

I absolutely adore my ipod shuffle. It's perfect for taking to the gym.

You obviously don't know what people use the shuffle for. The point is, you let your songs play randomly (i.e., "shuffle"). Hence the name. If you want to find a song using a screen, you would get a Nano, not a shuffle. If you need a screen and more storage, you would get a Classic or Touch, not a Nano. They have iPod lines to fit any need...
