I was ready to say "this is that old Valve forums guide, and while nice it's really old" when I checked it out. Boy was I wrong! Excellent find, and amazingly ACCURATE. Especially about Godwin's Law and teenagers. Thanks!

Hmm, not sure. Why are you not surprised?
Or was that a rhetorical question?
Brilliant vid. If everyone lived their online lives by those simple axioms, Internet forums would be a nicer place to be.

Not even the most ardent heterosexual likes looking at boobies when sat near their boss.
This is, of course, a lie. Probably dreamt up by a lamer who has erotic fantasies about Hitler.

You know, when Hitler took over, the first thing he did was try to tell people how to behave on the Internet.

Or someone whose boss is like Hitler... That'd be just creepy! Ewwwww!
In reality it's sort of a situation that's "awkward" more than anything else. "So Bob, why are you looking at boobiez instead of working?" "Gee, boss, they just keep me focused-don't they have that effect on you?" Yeah. Awkward.

lolz.
You can actually get had for sexually harassment for looking at boobies in the workplace here. Good job I'm my own boss and it's part of the job.

In my previous job, you could "get had" for "looking like you were going to engage in sexual harassment." No joke. And don't even think about "noticing" a female who is not of the same ethnicity as yourself! Dead serious. Of course you had to get reported for any of that. My predecessor "boffed" one of his subordinates (who was married to someone else at the time) and wound up moving on to some other, dead-end job for doing so. So of course I had the lovely task of dealing with a messed up young lady working for me. Then they gave me another young lady who was even prettier... For the record, my previous job was as a Senior NCO in the USAF. Sometimes you gotta walk on rice paper laid on top of eggshells.

OK, that one takes the proverbial biscuit.

Does the USAF actually do any fighting these days or does everyone just sit behind a paperwork mountain signing personal revue forms in triplicate?

Yes, I spent a lot of time doing paperwork. This wasn't "useless" paperwork-documenting that you've done all the right things to make sure that a base's airfield landing systems are both operational and safe is anything but useless-but it was tedious and people got testy over a lot of things. Plus, most people in the Air Force never get near an aircraft; they do "support jobs" as diverse as being a firefighter to being a pavement maintainer to being an ever popular administrative worker. Recruit smart people and give them mind-numbing jobs and bad things happen.
Fortunately, problems almost always crop up because someone assumes something and doesn't have the courage to confront the person they're making assumptions about. Or they're afraid because someone in the past made things difficult for them (and those people in the past are on my list-you know the kind of list I'm talking about). Almost all investigations of an "equal opportunity" nature end up with "how the hell did he think I was doing that?!?" Most (though not all) sexual harassment charges are resolved with a simple "didn't you know that we have rules against putting up those kind of pictures in your office-especially since we tell you about those rules every year?" and the idiot gets a nice written reprimand (for being an idiot more than anything else).
And this is actually ON TOPIC! If people in real life behaved as well as we'd like them to behave online, these assumptions and idiocies would not be a problem. The assumer would just come out and say "what do you mean by the?" and the idiots would be publicly berated-end of issue.
