So I am in my local electronic superstore seeing if there are any new toys that I SIMPLY NEED.

An Apple rep walks up to me and say "What do you think of the Apple prices here?"

Me "Oh they seem about the same" (I'm not doing research here anyhow)

He replies - "Our prices are much better online at the Apple store." Hands me a card for the online store and stalks another customer.

How weird is that...

Not weird at all. Apple often yanks the rug out from under it's reseller's feet. When I was working at a campus computer store back in university, our Apple rep often did similar things.

LOL, when I was at BB yesterday, the Apple rep was busy figuring out the regular BB sales guy's Mac problems.

Actually, his job is to get the local store to sell more Apple product, not to divert sales to the Apple Store.

That is absolutely correct.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

If I was a worker there, I'd tape him (no shortage of HD cameras there), confront him and kick him out of the store, then post his ass on Youtube.

Prices better at the Online Store? That makes no sense! They are usually the same unless that particular reseller had them marked up above retail.

I would have replied, "Amazon doesn't charge sales tax. Beat that."

And free shipping, $5 less (I know, woo hoo) and $75 to $150 rebates!
