I just bought a 360. I am running the 360 and my HD cable through my receiver and out to my TV. I have an older 42" HDTV with no hdmi and a receiver with no hdmi, so I am having to run everything through component cables with a separate optical cable for the sound.

I have a crapload of cables running behind my audio rack now for just those 3 things. 5 speaker cables, one subwoofer cable, 2 component cables in, 1 out to tv, two cable wires one to cable box one to modem, ethernet out from modem to router, 2nd ethernet out to 360 not too mention all the power cords, all this crap barely fits through the holes in the back of my audio rack.

It wasn't hard to wire up, it was more complicated to get all these damn wires hidden behind the audio rack. I can't wait to upgrade to a receiver with hdmi and upconversion from other sources and a tv that has hdmi.

Why do we even have power bricks anyway? You'd think someone would invent one big brick we can put in our basement/garage next to the fuse panel and then we could just run DC voltage to every room in our house.

I just got a new receiver that does HDMI. Only 3 HDMI cables for everything and a f'n component/optical set for the Wii (thanks, Nintendo...dumbasses).

Much cleaner back there now.

hahaha, one drunk night I was doing that to all my friends. Either they thought it was hilarious or they were laughing at me being ridiculous.

Either way, you rock!

Dammit, you got my hopes up that there was just some optical cable out there that I didn't know about.

It just goes to show how much I expect everything to have an optical cable.

Denon 1908. It's good, but its biggest problem is that you have 3 selectable inputs and something like 6 or 7 sets of inputs on the back (HDMI, Comp, S-Vid, Composite). You can ONLY select three of the inputs from the back. There needs to be more selectable inputs on the front. So, for the Wii, I have to plug the component into the TV directly and use the AUX for the analog audio because I have the TiVo, PS3, and NTSC TiVo inputs used already. I didn't know about this limitation when I bought it, but it's a good unit otherwise so I didn't bother bringing it back.
