I printed the photo in 11x17 and put it above my desk -- I think it's worth keeping in the rotation for a few weeks:

Drive heads don't actually float - they're not lighter than air. They're held there by an arm.

He might be referring to a cushion of air that the drive arm balances on.

But that has nothing to do with gravity and everything to do with barometric pressure.

iPods will work on the shuttle, but they have to be modified to use AA batteries, as the lithium ion batteries are not approved for use on the shuttle fleet.

I should probably post this is the iPod forum, but since I NEVER go in there *shudder* I'll ask here:

Does the iPod work without batteries if it is plugged into the AC adapter/charger?
