hmm...
UPS = 3
DHL = 3
FedEx = 2
the clear winners are ups and dhl...that is unless you include the US Postal Service that tips the scale at 4...

Obviously this the latest in a long line of besson joke accounts.
Maybe not, but I'd give him credit on this one.

Might we add incorrect apostrophes as well, using ' instead of ’? I mean, since we’re being all pedantic and stuff already.

Actually it’s ⌥ + . on the Norwegian keyboard layout. Makes more sense that way. (Never mind the fact that @ has its own key!).

For me, it’s ⌥ + Shift + . [full-stop]. Makes a bit more sense that a semi-colon.
Edit: The Norwegian way is even easier. Except that’s “·” on the Danish keyboard.
Actually, looking through the real Danish keyboard layout, I realise that, for reasons unknown, the ellipsis is located at ⌥ + X there. I rarely use the Danish layout, though.
I’ve long since decided I’d go mad if I cared about that
I don’t normally care, either (except in my own writing—I have writing on Windows boxes, ’cause I never know how to get proper punctuation), but I figured if we were at ellipsis level already, apostrophes were only a small step further down the ladder.

How odd. ⌥ + Shift + . is the · on Norwegian. What is the difference between the “real” Danish layout and the one you use?

Naturally, the question is begged on how to use the ellipses. Bringhurst, naturally, has some signposts for us, which can be found in section 5.2.7 in The Elements of Typographical Style, version 2.5.
Though many digital fonts these days include an ellipsis character (three baseline dots), typographers – not known as people who sit well with defaults – prefer to construct thier own. Some prefer three dots set flush, with a normal space before and after. Others prefer a “thin” space between the dots. On the other hand, the Chicago Manual of Style calls for a “thick” space (M/3) between the dots, a spacing which Bringhurst feels is much too wide, calling them a “Victorian eccentricity”.
The overall advice he has for us is to consider the look of the font and the size and construct the ellipsis accordingly. Allow space between the dots in light, airy fonts such as Baskerville; a heavy Trajanus might call for closely or flush-spaced dots. This is the designer taking an active role in design – instead of “letting the computer design for you”, which is what you do when you accept defaults.
In most every case, the general rule to follow is a normal space before and after ellipses, but there are exceptions to this rule. In English particularly, when the ellipsis appears at the end of the sentence, the period is added on as a fourth dot and the space in front of the ellipsis goes away. When the ellipsis is terminats in a question-mark, comma, or exclamation mark, the same applies. Otherwise, include the space.
It boils down to aesthetics really. Using the ellipsis character ensures the correct typographic usage. The “dots” are usually smaller and are correctly spaced.

Ok, so what's the point of the ellipses character ?
The point is that a proper ellipsis is (or should be) kerned to look harmonic with the rest of the characters in the font. The full stops looks far too heavy (especially in print) compared to regular letters, in most faces.
How odd. ⌥ + Shift + . is the · on Norwegian. What is the difference between the “real” Danish layout and the one you use?
The one I use is actually made for English text, since that’s what I write most of. I did it myself. The goal was to include as much as possible, basically. In that sense, it’s quite similar to the US Extended keyboard, except that it’s still very close to the standard Danish keyboard for basic key strokes. The reason I made it originally was actually that it annoyed me having to hit ⌥ + Å and ⌥ + Shift + Å in order to get simple quotation marks, as well as the fact that with the standard Danish layout, there’s no way of directly typing ü with tonal marks for Pinyin (i.e., ǖ̈ǘǚǜ).
Then I figured I might as well just add a bucketload of other diacritics and the most common IPA letters as well, so now I’ve got direct input for things like ȩ, ủ, ǫ, ű, ẓ, ɯ, ɤ, and lots of other useful little buggers.

In English particularly, when the ellipsis appears at the end of the sentence, the period is added on as a fourth dot and the space in front of the ellipsis goes away. When the ellipsis is terminats in a question-mark, comma, or exclamation mark, the same applies.
This has always irked me. I want an ellipsis to always consist of exactly three units, whether it be three dots or two dots and a question mark. Some type designers apparently agree with me, ’cause I have seen fonts that include “..?” and “..!” ellipses, where the dot in the question and exclamation mark is adjusted for size and spacing to fit the rest of the ellipsis. I prefer using this. An ellipsis followed by a full stop is one of the ugliest things imaginable in typesetting.

I was taught in high school that an ellipsis replaces omitted text in quotation, and that a full stop should be added when the text that follows the ellipsis is structurally a new sentence.
In stream-of-consciousness blatheriwriting, the ordinary ellipsis is preferable, of course.
