It just started. Best time of the year!!! I hope my Wings will go deep. All the way actually.
Sharks, Ducks, Stars in the West, and Habs, Rangers and Penguins might have something to say about that though.

Go Wings!!!

The Caps-Flyers game last night was spectacular. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but the Caps are so hot going into the playoffs that it's hard to temper my enthusiasm.

Given the immense scale of the universe, could it be that bananas exist on other planets?

GO HABS GO!! I'm a life-long diehard Habs fan and this is the most exciting team we've had in a long time. We're going to pummel Boston, mark my words, then roll from there. The only team that scares me a bit in the East is Pittsburgh. In the West Detroit does look awfully good yet again.

edit: 'tis the season so I've updated my sig to echo this post. GO HABS GO!

The Wild are driving us crazy. This is one of the best seasons we have ever had, and all they keep doing is getting stuck in overtime. This is going to make us in Minnesota nervous wrecks.

It was a fun game. AO came through big time at the end.
Trivia question : do you know why Huet wear #38?

Montreal is a FAST and exciting team. Kovalev is having a monster year. I am still on the fence about trading Huet though. So far Price is outplaying Thomas, although one could say that Thomas is not playing so well either.

I hear ya. I thought they were nuts at first when the deal was made but Price has been rock solid with only a handfull of shaky moments since he got the starting job fulltime. The kid is just so calm all the time, nothing fazes him at all - you can tell that he's going to just get better and better. Trading Huet was risky, aka ballsy, but then there's a reason that Bob Gainey is running the Canadiens, not us.

Lets go Pens!
I've been a dedicated pens fan ever since i was a young gun but i'm scared of those Habs, i thought after Huet was traded Price would falter as a rookie in the playoffs, but hes looked solid.
my second team has always been the wings, but i'm unsure if Hasek can hold up against the Sharks in a later round.

Sharks are gonna melt the ice this year. You can't stop them. Mwuhahahaha! Riots in San Jose! (I'll be hanging out next to the Apple Store when the looting starts...)

Vancouver sucks.

Not specifically. It's close to 39, his Habs number? I know he was originally going to be 33 when he joined the Caps (Patrick Roy's number, right?), but he decided to go with 38 instead.

Rootin' for the Avs to win (of course) and the Ducks to fail (fingers crossed for Bertuzzi to get a spectacular career ending injury), but all that aside, the Sharks are the team to beat this year.
Doesn't matter much who comes out of the east (go Habs!). They're just fodder, really.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Go Ducks! (I live 10 minutes away from the pond and the longer they stick around the more games I get to watch. Teehee.)

Mind you I might be wrong on this one, but the département he is from in France, Isère, is #38 in the administrative ranking. I don't think it's a coincidence!

The issue isn't that he traded Huet; the issue is that he traded him for nothing, and gave an Eastern Conference team a starting goalie.

That's the issue. Why trade at all, if you get mostly nothing in return?

A 2nd round, while not much, is still better than losing him to UFA. Ask the Sabres about it.
