I prefer not or pretending not to know where meat comes from.
After reading this and it will happen I suppose, I just dunno, I think I would finally get rid of my caveman cravings and become a vegetarian. I hear they can make soy beans taste like steak.
Almost felt nauseous about the article.

No, they can't.

If it's from Applebee's, then beans and steak and broccoli all taste the same.
They've got it figured out.
Applebee's is nasty.

I've found some soymeat that is actually a decent substitute for the stuff it's replacing. Most faux ground beef, Lightlife ground sausage, Morningstar's buffalo wings and corn dogs — all that stuff is actually pretty good and captures the essence of what's good about the meat products it's replacing. But I have never found a good soymeat hamburger or steak. (Actually, that's not 100% true. Black bean burgers are friggin' awesome, but they don't even try to imitate hamburgers except in shape.)
As for the original post: I'm all for it. I don't understand all the people who are more OK with torturing animals than with not. Honestly, WTF? You can ignore that your hamburger was a mommy last week but you can't get past the fact that it was created through safe and harmless scientific experimentation?

Personally, I like the idea if it can be made cheap enough. Living in a rural Kansas cow-town though, I can tell you this will make a lot of people (specificaly ranchers) nervous. Then again what scientific breakthroughs don't make rural Kansas nervous? While I don't see this happening anytime soon, I wouldn't put it past fast food or wallmart to be on it like stink on an ape, once it becomes economically viable that is. Hehe I wonder what I'll be telling my grandkids when they ask: "Where do hamboogers come from?"

There's very little actual meat in fast food burgers anyway, is there?

That was an especially bad image violation.

(they needed money, and for money they needed to prove a point - and they just couldn't get any good real footage of people doing really, really gorey clubbing, you know - the kind required for people to reach for their wallets...)

As far as I'm aware, it's real. I've never seen it debunked or anything to indicate that it isn't legit. I tend to be suspicious of PETA, who seem to be publicity whores first and foremost, but I haven't found any reason to doubt that video.

It was a really cool 3-point infraction. Never had one of those before.
I guess I can check that off my list, now.
I saw "cultured Meat" and I found a pic of Bush and Cheney...loving each other. Nekkid. I think you understand the reference. Although, the "cultured" part is debatable, I'll admit.
