Me neither. She’s truly, irredeemably awful. She has nothing going for her, and her chemistry with the Doctor is almost non-existent. Whilst I preferred Eccleston to Tennant, I thought Martha and the Doctor had good chemistry, and I quite enjoyed watching them together. Donna, on the other hand, is terrible; she’s loud, obnoxious, and has nothing even remotely interesting to say. The whole time she’s onscreen, I expect her to pop out with one of her inane and irritating catch-phrases.

Overall, it might turn out she’s a deal-breaker. Whilst I’ll probably watch the Rose episodes, if Tate doesn’t improve dramatically in the third episode, I’m going to stop watching it.

...we're delighted to officially confirm that Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler in Series Four of Doctor Who.
Soooo...Does she return as good old Rose? Or is there a twist? The obvious turn would to have her return as an evil Rose, set against the Doctor. What with his constant pining-away for Rose, it would be a bittersweet turn of events to have her return only to be set against him.

Over here in the UK the whole Catherine Tate thing was a real hornets nest. Personally I quite liked her in the Runaway bride and never really got that involved with Martha who was a bit on the wooden side.

Season 4's opener was a step in the right Donna direction. Openers are generally lighter, faster and plot lite as their main reason for being is to get the Doctor together with the new companion or visa versa but I thought there were some excellent touches of both comedy and drama.

Episode two however just blew me away. It was so totally old school who with all the best of the new series sensibilities and production values. The destruction of Pompeii must be a highlight in who effects, no question and I personally thought Donna and the Doctor were excellent. They have the potential to be the best pairing in the shows's history, or at least to equal Tom Baker and Liz Sladen.

Hmmm... wait til it premieres on real tv, or find online... I wonder how chock full of commercials and cuts the sci-fi version will be.

We won't find out for a couple of weeks with these episodes — our premiere is the Christmas special from four months ago.

I'm wondering how she got back, though. I bet it has something to do with when she merged with the TARDIS & whatever technology they had on the parallel world when they shifted with the Cybermen.
