Logo Can Make You 'Think Different'

This should be interesting news for Apple.

DURHAM, NC -- Whether you are a Mac person or a PC person, even the briefest exposure to the Apple logo may make you behave more creatively, according to recent research from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and the University of Waterloo, Canada.

I wonder if that applies regardless of whether you know what the logo stands for.

If so, that would ruin their explanation for the effect.

I think to a large extent whether or not people are creative depends on their perception of themselves. Perhaps glancing at something that represents creativity to them reminds them of their own potential. I bet a lot of symbols would do this--not just apple logos.
