What not to do before stealing a purse
What not to do when stealing a purse - Criminal weirdness - MSNBC.com

The suspect, Andre Smith, struck up a conversation with a group of women at a bachelorette party at the Bensalem Township taproom early Sunday morning, the township's public safety director, Fred Harran, said Wednesday. The women were taking photos of each other when Smith jumped in front of the camera, Harran said.
Pretty dumb as criminals go

Still, it's nice to see Dr. Evil's spirit live on.

I also heard a rumor he made out the check to cash.

If you ever watch The First 48 on A&E (which I highly, highly recommend), you'll often get a situation where the police have no idea who the perp was, and they will find some useless piece of evidence (like a set of clothes the perp ditched) that becomes useful because the perp had left a court summons in his pocket.

Come on.. two times in the same thread, it's really annoying for other users to see someone deliberately trying to derail the thread... Even after a moderator warned you...

I'm sorry, I thought this was about dumb criminals. I didn't know that some dumb criminals were off limits. Perhaps the thread starter should have made that clear. No moderator posted anything here on anything except 'banter', I didn't interpret that to mean some criteria on the dumbness or criminality which can be discussed in this thread.

That's pretty obvious, which is why people are trying to point out the subtleties you missed.

Go create another thread in the PL instead of shitting in this one.

OK, the lowdown: Political stuff goes in the Political Lounge. This has been the rule for quite some time. That being clarified, there's no need to discuss this further. So let's get this back on track.

So crimes committed by politicians are 'political', while crimes committed by non-politicians are not?

Jeez, peeb. Yet more questions that would be fine in a thread on that subject. Which I point out no one is stopping you from making.

And it is not petty and small minded to spew politics in a non political thread?

Actually, I'd like to add something to this thread, which by the looks of it, should be moved to the political lounge anyway.. My statement is this:

The only reason the Bush administration can get away with spying on internet traffic, at the very LEAST, is that people don't classify it as a crime, they call it "politics".

peeb made a witty, ironic comment in a funny thread, and you guys are busting his balls defending someone who doesn't give a **** about anything.. Nice.

Come on man... you're not that thick, are you? You're reference to the V.P.'s "crime" is an accusation made by a former State Department official. He hasn't been charged with a crime so how is he a criminal?

No. We're busting his balls for what came after the witty and ironic part.

And you are completely off base WRT who or what I'm defending. You don't know me, so I'd appreciate it if you kept your assumptions about my motivations to yourself.

I am not buying that anybody honestly believes accusations of war crimes against politicians is not political. Moreover, this thread is not the correct place to debate moderation decisions. So for the last time: Stop derailing and stop responding to derailing comments.

So, anybody have any thoughts on the OP? Anyone else have any good dumb criminal stories?

I think someone is setting themselves up for another vacation.

Edit: I just noticed this happened in a nearby region of my state. Not surprising.

Edit: just in case the ink isn't dumb enough, I saw the guy interviewed (he's very soft spoken) and the word "supremacist" had just too many of those damn syllables.

Every other sentence he would talk about what it meant to be a "white supremmist"

Not fast enough. It should be like that The State skit where everytime a student mentioned killing the president the secret service would immediately bust in and haul them away. As soon as the needle leaves the guys head, the police should bust in and haul the guy away.
